What I eat in a RUSH
Yummy oily fish

I promised to write about what I eat, when truly hungry, in a rush, and far from my kitchen.

It is dense protein, ideally wild and, ideally, high in Omega-3. Most often, it is a can of small oily fish. I usually have a good stock of them in my pantry and, always, one can in my car. In the car, with the can, I usually have a plastic fork (those are easy to get at any grocery store so I make sure to grab a few, when shopping).

This is what I eat if caught off guard somewhere and starving. It is also my way of ensuring I eat enough Omegas for my heart😄. While I might take a fish oil capsule, once in a while, I do not take them regularly as the research on the benefits of isolated fish oil for AFib patients, appears to be mixed. Whole foods rich in Omega-3s, are usually safe and generally beneficial.

I rotate through oily fish cans often. I grab really good ones on sale here and there as, I know that, even if I don't eat them all, they can go into my family's "Earthquake Kit" which I try to keep up-to-date as well (we live in the US Pacific Northwest where a BIG one has been promised for a while now, so what better way to ensure you are well prepared than by stocking some non-inflammatory foods, right😄?).

If I am only "half-starving" but headed to my house semi-next (like, only about 3 more errands to run:), I will look for a good coffee shop on the way. There, I will grab a "sanity break" and a small delicious cup of caffeine to tie my over. And that (caffeine) is something I feel like writing about next. Caffeine consumption appears somewhat controversial and contradictory for AFib patients (to the point of my cardiologist saying so 🙃) so I will write about what works and does not work for my heart and I next. As that, after all, is what this is about.
